I couldn't find how much ranking points they would be awarded, but I don't think NC is right. It doesn't make sense for Venus to drop in the rankings when she made it 3 rounds further than Chakvetadze.

Regardless of who wins Ivanovich would still be number 1 only Jankovic and Kuznetsova had a chance to be number 1 during Wimbledon.

Probably because the Williams sisters dont play as much as other tennis players.

NC is right, Venus is defending champion she won't get any points by winning it, she just can lose points if she doesn't win.
