Wta tour rankings???maria sharapova?

well the us open series has come

and acura classic is no longer a tournament is that mean maria sharapova will lose points because acura classic is no longer a tournament???i dont get it!!!(remember she was the champion last year

Good question! I'm not sure. I guess they would have to because its not like she can defend the points so she would always have them

I expect all the players who competed would have lost their points from the tournament too.

I am not sure how the WTA get around that! sorry.

thats what i was worrying about! i hope not i dont really know the rules for discontinued tourneys........she is also losing points for not competing in LA BUMMER!.......so hopefully she does real good in Toronto :D
