  1. The Mayans were a race in Mexico hundreds of  years ago.

They were very intelligent, and developed a calendar which is very different than the one we use today.  It was more accurate than ours is, and included accurate predictions of many cosmic events, such as eclipses.

Their calendar ends on Dec 21, 2012.  Because of their accuracy,  many have interpretted the end of their calendar to be the end of the world.

  2. go to http://webexhibits.org/calendars/calenda... everything you need to know is there.

  3. I dont understand the questiom...

  4. The concept that it predicts the end of the world has no merit. It is merely where their calendar ends.

Our calendars tend to end on December 31st, or January 31st of the following year. We don't go predicting the end of the world every time that happens (Well, not the sane ones amongst us)...

You would think if you were going to predict the end of the world, there might have been a footnote or something in there at the end of the Calendar system mentioning that detail. There is no such mention of an apocalyptic doomsday.

However accurate their system of predicting cosmic events, it is far more likely that they chose to stop at that time for other reasons then some precognitive foresight of the end of the world...
