I have a valid Schengen visa issued from Hungary Consulate. But I will go first to Germany stay there 3 days and then I'll pass to Budapest (Hungary) and stay there for 5 days. I have my flight and hotel reservation papers for Budapest. Will Germany stop me in border and return back?

  1. You can.

Border posts and checks have been removed between the states which form the Schengen area,  A common Schengen visa allows tourists or other visitors access to the area. Holders of residence permits to a Schengen state enjoy the freedom of travel to other Schengen states for a period of up to three months.

  2. no, the general rule is that your visa is issued by the first country you are visiting.....So, your visa is issued by Hungary, then that means, you would've already provided a copy of your itinerary that says your first destination is Hungary.  You'll need to follow that.

  3. By spending the majority of your travel in the country which issued the visa to you, you are complying with the regulations - it will not be a problem that you entering the Schengen Zone through a different country (in this case, Germany).

  4. As per the schengen states the rule is that if you have the visa issued from hungary then your first port of landing/entering in schengen is the same country. But if you are a frequent traveler then you can enter into any port of schengen states.

Just to update you on one fact i.e. earlier hungary was not in schengen state and recently it is, so you might face some problem. I will advice you better enter first in hungary and then germany.

    Best of luck
