  1.         You made a good choice for a tank. A ten-gallon can really only be used for freshwater community fish. If you're going for cheap, long-lived and fun, I recommend the hardy community fish - danios, guppies, platys, mollies, cory cats, and tetras.

  2. I have a tropical community tank, and so here are some good tank stockings for it that I could recommend: =]

#1.     2 Platies (either just male or female unless fry is wanted)

5 Neon Tetras (Neon's like to be kept in schools, but are difficult to breed)

    #2.    2 Honey Gouramis

           3 Platies

#3.    2 Fancy Guppies (Male or female unless fry is wanted)

1 Platy ( or two platies and one guppy)

A small school (no more than four or five) of small tetras, like Neons.

    #4.    A school of 8 Neon Tetras

These are just some of many stockings you can do for a ten gallon. All of these fish are tropical and so need a filter and heater. I would NOT recommend Goldfish though, I have two that outgrew my ten gallon and they are now in a 48 gallon and are getting too big for that. I hope this helps, and good luck! =]

  3. 10 gallon tank is a good choice. 2 angel fish, some guppies, zebras are nice but agressive, mollies tend to get ick(a disease that infects the whole tank) very easily. make sure not to over populate the tank, One Inch Per Gallon Rule!

The most widely known rule for stocking a tank is one inch of fish per gallon of water
