  1. Use this site to look at the stats for '08 applicants:

    Start on page 37

    http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/ed...

  2. These questions are really hard to answer because you can admitted or rejected whether you have a 4.0 GPA or a 3.0 GPA. It's about being well rounded with your activities, grades, sat scores, essays, and other personal information. In my personal experience, I applied to UCSD and UC Berkeley, I was rejected from UC San Diego but got in to UC Berkeley. My GPA was 3.7. I had a friend who got into UCLA but got rejected to UC Santa Barbara.

If you want to get into UC San Diego, the best thing to do is get the best grades because the higher grade will help you BUT it won't be THE ticket into the school you want. Remember to do other things that will make you a well-rounded student.

  3. the UC handbook is a good guide, but it only showed accepted stats, not enrolled, and many people use UCSD as a backup to UCLA and UCB, which inflates admitted stats.

To be in for sure, maybe a 4.0+ UC GPA, 2000+ SAT
