  1. BC and AD mean Before Christ and After Christ (Anno Domini - after God) so that should make that part obvious.  There are thousands of "time periods" in history.  Most of them are based on the ruling periods of kings or dynasties or the endurance of civilizations.  Several are based on dates set by religion or tradition including Chinese, Jewish, Christian, Roman, and Muslim.

  2. If you want a biblical perspective, or just a broad term as you asked before: It would be BC (Before Christ) and AD (After Christ's Death). HOWEVER, for current day standards and the sense of being politically correct, you use BCE and CE, referring to Before Common Era (then) and Common Era (now)

In terms of historical time lining, you'll want to look into the beginnings...

    -The Stone Age

    -The Copper Age

    -The Bronze Age

    -The Iron Age

The dates of which these periods occured vary depending on the region you are looking at evolutionary wise.

Other historical periods you can consider include:

    -Mesopotamia (6000 BC - 1100 BC)

-Indus Valley Civilization (3300 BC - 1300 BC)

    -Dark Age (Europe, 4th century - 900)

    -Industrial Revolution (18th - 19th centuries)

And many more...if you want more check out my source:

  3. if you could learn to spell you will get more answers to your question.

The previous answer explained BC and AD. Why are you asking again?
