and..... do you feel sorry for Heathcliff by the middle of the book?

Yes I enjoyed the book but not as much as Jane Eyre!  I think some of Heathcliff's life was cruel which is why he became bitter too.

read this just recently and yeah, i loved it.

and i suppose i did feel a bit sorry for him, but cant for the life of me think of a good reason why?

I love it, Emily Bronte uses language beautifully.

I feel bad for Heathcliff, but not because I like him, because he just isn't likable because he is so distant. He is bitter because of the hardship he faced, and I think it shows an unappealing side of human nature that we all have to come to terms with.

I haven't finished it .. I skiped through it .. guess I'm not a classic type of person.
