Wy did my hamster get mysteriously fat and now her nipples are swollen.?

I do not have any other hamsters for her to possible mate with but i do have a rabbit they play together.

if there was no male then she is not pregnant, maybe she just gained weight and nipples usually show on older hamsters hope this helps

Did you just get her recently? She may have been pregnant when you bought her.

I'm sure she can't get pregnant if she mated with a rabbit (I doubt they'll mate at the first place), so it has got to be a health problem, probably caused by her diet.

If she's getting fat, she might be eating more and not getting enough exercise. Does she have a wheel attached to her cage?

It can even be a tumor...but I don't think nipples would swell because of that.

Please consult with the vet and let the vet take care of this.

By the way, you should not let your hammy play with your rabbit...they may seem to get along, but you never know when they start fighting.

It's possible to be caused by diet problems, but go to the vet and find out for sure.

how long have you had her. if you just got her it is possible she is pregnant

When did you get her? If she was mixed with males she could be pregnant. She may even have mated with ur rabit? This is the most logical explanation but im sorry it was not a lot of help! Hey, call a local petco or petsmart they have profesionals to talk to!!

If you recently got her, then she is probably pregnant.

I would go to the vet to make sure.. It might be something serious, and only a vet can tell you what it is.
