Wyn Min Tiffany wins Girls 50m freestyle gold – 53rd MILO National Schools Swimming Championships
Wyn Min Tiffany Koh won gold medal of the 50m freestyle in the Girls 16-19 Year Olds category at the 53rd MILO National Schools Swimming Championships in Singapore on April 25.
Koh stunned the aquatic crowd by winning gold medals of the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle. With her epic performance, she continued her smothering efforts in the playoff and reached the medal rostrum for gold medal.
The 17-year-old Koh remained almost half body length ahead of her following challenger and tapped the finishing wall for gold medal by clocking a time of 28.22 seconds.
Her gold winning effort remained 0.45 seconds faster from her teammate, Kay Lynn Teo, who emerged on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 28.67 seconds.
Teo was followed by Xiang Fei Melisa Tay of ACJC, who stayed 0.25 seconds away from overpowering her foregoing finisher and hit the finishing end with the timing of 28.92 seconds for bronze medal.
Tay remained 0.14 seconds away from her team-member, Sarah Duan Dahlberg, who finished her swim in fourth best place by submitting a time of 29.06 seconds.
Following that, she once again reached the starting blocks for the playoff of 100m event. Koh once again devastated hopes of Teo and tapped the finishing wall with the timing of 1 minute and 00.90 seconds.
Her title claiming effort remained 0.60 seconds faster from Teo, who captured silver medal of the discipline by producing a time of 1 minute and 01.50 seconds.
Third position of the discipline was obtained by Meriah de Vierno Ida, who stayed considerably slower from her former finisher but secured bronze medal of the event with the timing of 1 minute and 05.18 seconds.
Ida was chased by Jia Le Zhang of HCI, who stayed almost one body length behind and finished fourth in the 100m event by reporting a time of 1 minute and 06.29 seconds.
In addition, the championship ended after the session while the position holders were awarded medals and accolades for their commendable efforts in their respective events at prize ceremony of the championship.
