High Def. They are in place of a HDMI Cable. If you have a H.D. tv, there should be red,green, and blue hook ups in the back/side. Hook them up the same as you would the white, yellow and red ones for a/v.

On the back of the AV adapter there is a little switch the can turn on the high definition.

The red, green, and blue cable are the composite cables (hi-def). The others are the component (basic video and sound)
