X-men, where do I start?

Question

I was looking to buy some x-men graphic novels (no single comic books there are way too many to even begin with those). Anyways I was going to order some but I'm just not sure what to order other than Age of Apocolypse.

Any ideas on what graphic novels are good would help!

I would say for the best you got to get alot of older stories.

The beginning is always great and you can either get the Essential which has alot of issues but is in black and white OR get the Masterworks one which has alot less issues but is in color:

Essential X-Men, Vol. 1 (Marvel Essentials)

Marvel Masterworks: The X-Men Vol. 1

Same thing for the start of the All New All Different X-Men... Essiential or Masterworks:

Essential Uncanny X-Men, Vol. 1 (Marvel Essentials)  

Marvel Masterworks: Uncanny X-Men, Vol. 1

Basically alot of the bigt events but they are very good if you want the best of the best for your collection.  THey are all very good reads
