XBOX 360 has 3 red light problem because its second hand they wont fix can anyone help?

My sons 360 has the 3 red lights but we bought second hand and microsoft wont help its to ask if anyone has had longterm out of the repairs on ebay like the one with the new screws and washers etc any help would be great thanks.

I sell x-clamp fix kits on ebay.co.uk for £4 + p&p which are a permanent fix since it clamps the heatsinks down properly. Over 1100 happy customers so far. Also comes with a sachet of thermal paste to replace the awful MS thermal pads + my repair guide is v good with lots of pics and is really easy to follow.

I've had xbox 360s fixed a year ago that are still going strong. Only problem with the x-clamp kits is if you buy the ones with nylon washers since the nylon tends to expand in extreme heat. I've fixed a fair few of those in my time!

i fixed it myself manually and didn't mail it back to microsoft

its easy and you can do it yourself look at that website ( step by step repair guide that solves the most xbox 360 common problems permanently)

yeah, anyway, if you get some arctic silver 5 (ebay) thermal compound and some machine screws and washers, just take the x-clamps off the CPU and GPU. wipe cleanly off the thermal compound and replace with a drop of arctic silver 5. then replace the heatsinks with the machine screws.

the CPU and GPU use different size screws, i only had screws for the CPU so i only replaced that. the next day i never had the ring of death.

only the disk drive doesnt work now.

it is pretty simple to fix.

my sons had prob with theirs they found some videos on u tube which demonstrate how to fix it yrself. it worked for a while, but then broke again, u have nothing to lose so worth a try.

goto a electrical store and they will fix it for a fee. or you can call microsoft again but lie to them. saying it was new.

That sucks I feel sorry for you and your son but no offense to you or your son but most second hand consoles are 360s that have had the three red rings previously and thus it is retarded to buy second hand 360s because microsoft won't fix and the previous owner of the 360 know just as well as i do 360s that have had the red rings before are more prone to getting them again so they sold the 360 and made a few extra bucks before it broke on them again I hope you and your son do figure out some way to fix it thow so good luck...
