XBOX 360 to Surround Sound?

Question

If your surround sound system has and HDMI slot can you put the HDMI cord from the XBOX into that and then just run the Yellow cord into the TV to get both the surround sound and then the picture on the TV?

Your receiver should have some sorta HD video output...the best thing to do is connect the xbox to the receiver via hdmi and output the video from the receiver to the tv using HDMI or component HD cables.

If you have an HDTV this won't give you a HD picture from the XBOX. If you have HD, then put the HDMI in the TV and use the TV's optical or coax sound output. If it's not HD, then that will work.
