XBOX cable problem!!! Need help!!!?

Question

I have recently purchased an XBOX 360, however i intend to connect it to my computer screen. My screen has a DVI slot in the back. So i have also purchased a HDMI cable to DVI however i am not certain if this will carry sound into my computer monitor or not. If not I have no way to connect the audio, in dire need of your help!

even if your computer monitor has speakers, the sound would not be carried over DVI, so you need that little dongle that comes with the 360 HDMI cable that provides the normal sound outputs. It looks like this:
