XBOX or PS3? Caught in 2 minds!! ?

Question

HI all, i am trying to buy PS3 or an XBOX but i am not sure which one is the best.

i wil like the option of playing online and i am not sure if any of the consoles offer that option.

Also, pls advice what models will be best to buy. e.g XBOX elite/premium console. PS3 40gb or 80gb.

And yea one more final question. will i need to buy a cooling fan for a PS3?

I would choose the ps3 all the way. You should get the 40gb.  THe ps3 has cool games that xbox360 does not hyave. Such as god of war 3, little big planet, kill zone 2, kill zone 1, resistance 2, and the new HOME(this is free and you can chat with your friends, for more go to youtube and type in "ps3 home". The ps3 controllers have six-axis which is cool in army of two for controlling parachute. The ps3 has a builit in blue-ray. So its like a free dvd player!!!! The ps3 store has downloadable games and can buy,download, or rent movies and games.

The xbox360 the controllers have to be recharged on batteries which meanes u have to spent a ton of $$$ on batteries. The xbox360 controllers are heavier which means you dont feel as confortable player your games.

hi i have both consoles.and have to say xbox live (online) is far better than the ps3 , but you have to pay for it.

but the ps3 is a better machine  as it has a blu ray dvd.

i have never bought a cooling fan for either and both work fine .

if you  go for xbox go for elite if you go for ps3 go for 80g as it is the same price as the 40g

Speaking from a previous Sony Fanboy stance, I have both, and I use my Xbox 360 10 times more than my PS3. The PS3 may have more features, but it also gets twice as hot, PSN Network is not very good compared to Xbox Live, and overall, the Xbox 360 provides a way better entertainment device. the PS3 is nice, but if you told me to choose today, I would give up the PS3 in a heartbeat. I have the 360 Elite (120GB)

You would need an air conditioner for the PS3. when I play mine, the temperature in my living room jumps 4-5 degrees.

both the same really but the xbox 360 breaks allot and the ps3 nothing really goes wrong with them but the 360 is allot funner xbox live talking to your mates

Id personally go for the 360. Much more enhanced and has excellent features. Better gameplay and so on and loads more games!

PS3 has better connection ability and slightly, and i mean 'slightly' better graphics.

But 360 all the way.

I've had both systems and I can say that the Xbox 360 is a much better console.  Even with its problems (I had a ring of death) but my warranty covered so no prob.  Xbox live is leaps and bounds better than Playstations online network.  It sucks that you have to pay for it though.  But there are way more people playing online for the xbox than playstation. So if your looking for online play hands down go grab them xbox and get live!

People also keep saying that Playstation 3 will have a bigger library of games.  Right now I'm pretty positive that they do not.  Maybe in the future but as of now if you want a larger selection of games get the xbox again.  Sony has lost a lot of exclusives to Microsoft and Nintendo since their consoles are so popular.  

Playstation 3 is the most powerful out of the 3 consoles but there hasn't been any games to take advantage of this yet it seems and then there comes the price.  Xbox is much more reasonable than the outrageous price of the PS3.

If you get an xbox be sure to pick up Halo, Gears, Forza, and Rainbow!  They all are great games.  If you get a PS3 go grab Warhawk, Resistance, and Metal Gear!

get xbox 360 elite, the best games are for the xbox and xbox live is awesome, get the 360 with halo 3 and get gears of war 2 when i comes out.

ps3 isnt worth the money man and all of the anticipated games are for the 360.

They both have the same graphics.

I would go for an xBox, more people have one of them, therefore, better online gaming, also its Microsoft that make it so can connect to your pc, elite/premium/core, there all the same, its just the colour of them really, elite-black, premium-Silver tray, Core- all white. they all come with different sizes of HDD, but to be honist I would get a core, its cheaper than the rest, then you can buy a HDD from ebay or somthing for about 50quid.

Also, xbox provides a better online gaming networking system than PS3

There are many, many, many, many articles on this which all tend to differ in opinion. I have owned a 360 and currently own a PS3. Both are great, but it really does depend what you want it for. 360's are cheaper and currently better for online play due to menu's and the amount of people on it. PS3 is catching up fast though.

360 Pro's

* more games

* better online at the moment

* better controller

* more of a community

* cheaper

360 Con's

* very loud fans and disk mechanism

* plagued by the ring of death (ive had it)

* xbox live costs £40 a year

* no HDMI port on models other than the elite

* HD DVD format lost the war

* without a play and charge kit controllers eat batteries

PS3 Pro's

* playstation network is free

* quiet fans, disk mechanism

* upgradeable hard drive and its easy to do

* controller is smaller (suits some people) and the battery lasts ages and does not require batteries.

* blu-ray player built in

PS3 Con's

* behind 360 in online versatility, from chatting to mates to general design.

They really are very similar and its down to a personal choice, ive gone for the PS3 but it was the ring of death that pushed me that way. PS3 is catching up all the time and the built in blu-ray player is a real bonus too. And PS3's dont 'eat' dics, my year old games still play just fine, if anything the hard coating on blu-rays make them harder to scratch than the dvd's used by the xbox.

No cooling fan is required for either console really, but the PS3 does feel like it runs cooler than my xbox ever did.

Go for the best you can afford.

That is if you like the sports game and the kill them all games.

If you like ninja games racing games some sports games, and like sonic then go with PS3. Note they do have a lot of same games 2.

I also like xbox live 100% better that what ever ps3's online sevice is. I cant think of the name right now.

I would go with xbox 360 if you are over the age of 10 and like online gaming. Also xbox 360 is cheeper, and dont worry about people saying well xbox 360 get red ring of death and ps3 dosnt, that is bs. Ps3 has just as many problems as xbox 360 and that is not a lot. Also the graphics are just as good on the xbox 360 as they are on the ps3. Finnally no i dont think the ps3 needs a cooling fan.

So short answer is get a 360.

Also xbox has halo and gears of war. that was the biggest selling point for me.

If you get xbox 360 which i know you will you have to get halo 3 it is the best game out there right now for online multiplayer.

Oh, and 50 dollars for xbox live is deffenetly worth it. It is way more supirior that ps3 online.

I feel I should say that I have both a PS3 and a 360, and only the PS3 has stopped reading its discs. They are just as likely to break down, so don't let it sway your choice.
