Anyone who runs xc. Have you had a season where you go in and feel great and positive about the yourself but then come back the next season and feel like your doing c**p and your tired of the the sport? I felt that way this past season and I didn't do as great as I did freshman year, has anyone ever experianced this? If so what are your plans for next season?

  1. I think I get a sense of how you are feeling. Running cross is not easy and sometimes I think runners can get "burnout." I had something similar to this. I kept comparing myself to the year before and when I didn't do as well as I wanted, I got down on myself. Having a clear goal in mind will definitely help you to be more motivated. Just remember, most of the workouts you have you will probably feel crappy. And enjoy those special races where you feel absolutely amazing, which is also rare. But really it is a simple sport, but many runners (myself included) tend to overthink it and psych themselves out. Just run and have fun with it. Good luck!

  2. Make sure you train hard during the off season to make sure you stay in shape.

  3. train harder & make sure your heart is into it

  4. That's exactly how I felt this year compared to last year. Although I plan to do xc again next year and try my best. If I still feel like I'm doing badly I won't do it again because I'm extremely competitive.
