  1. how fast is your fastest mile?  Add 45 seconds to your fastest mile and that should approximately be your race pace for a 5k.  so if your fastest mile is 5:00, you should try to average 5:45 for a 5k.

  2. There is no such thing as "race pace" Because races are different lengths, and not all equal. Just go out and run.

I mean, you know not to run 100%, but you also know not to go the pace you go for easy runs, so just find the right pace.

If this is your first race, this is a good way to experiment with racing. Try going out a little bit hard and see how you do. Maybe next race go out slower and see the results. Compare the results to how you placed on the team you use that to determine how you should run races.

    Good luck!

  3. I dont quite understand your question but your tempo pace and race pace should not be the same, I would say about a 20 second difference per mile. Your races should be everything youve got for three miles.
