Once the merger goes through, any thoughts on stocks rising?

To be ahead of the game should one buy into Sirius or XM?

  1. Go to Cramer's street.com site - he's published extensively on this and most of the experts regard it as a pure speculative play. The business has been damaged by the almost 600 day intential political power play delay.  For the long term I'm a fan - the quality is excellent.  Price point will be key.  Best of luck with your decision.

  2. We're in a bear market.

  3. I wouldn't buy either.  Sirus has a larger subscriber base, but it also has an enormous debt to Howard Stern.  If the FTC keeps s******g around with this then they will both go under.

  4. This is as about as exciting as Circuit City and Blockbuster getting together.

Both companies are laden with debt, declining subscribers and both near bankruptcy.

They will prob merge, but I don't think they will make it long term.  I think pay sat radio will go the way of Beta Max.

Sold out of XM last December 07. No hope for Sirius in my view.

If you have a gain, or close to it, sell on any strength, or prepare for a tax loss.

Just look at their financials. Losses Losses Losses. So a combined merger? Combined losses, elimination of competition, but there has not been a mass movement toward this industry as once thought.

Look at the auto manufactures. They are pre-installing fewer sat radios, less CD players, and have moved to more ipod hook ups, and flash memory devices. I think AAPL will far more benifit than even a combined XM-Sirius merger.
