XM not compatible in a 06' Mazda 6???

Question

I had bought an XM radio unit for my dad to put in his truck for Christmas a couple of years ago but he never installed it. He told me I can have it since I have a "SAT" button on my Mazda6. I asked the dealer if they can install it but the guy from the Parts dept said that only Sirius will work. Is that true or was he just BSing me so that I could buy the Sirius radio from them?

Yeah, you'd probably have to get it installed somewhere else.
