Question:

XP 2008 Virus Removal?

Okay... I have this virus on my laptop. It is the XP virus. I have taken it to TWO computer repair shops and neither can get it off. My laptop has a partitioned hard drive because one half I use for work and the other half I use for Internet. Essentially, it is two computers in one. The drive that has the virus (D:) cannot get online. It just comes up to the blue screen saying you have a virus and then stops. My question is do I need to download some kind of remover online, save to a jumpdrive and then install on my operable drive (C:) or am I totally screwed? I am tired of spending money on this... please let me know if my question is not clear. I am not a computer person so I may need to post additional info.

  1. Is there any warning that tells you what the virus is? Which kind of virus it is? Download Spybot Search and Destroy:

    www.safer-networking.org

It will help, I promise. I had 4 trojans on my computer yesterday, my Avast antivirus didnt detect them, and Spybot deleted them.
