XP And DirectX 10 HELP PLEASE?

hello i am thinking of going back to xp and i am a pc gamer. I just wanted to know if u can get directx 10 for windows xp because people have got directx 10 on xp but is it normal directx 10.

So can u get the proper directx 10 for windows xp if yes can u please send me a link to download page please.

And please do not say stay with vista or that because i dont want to please just answer question.

  1. sorry to tell you there is no directx 10 on xp. Dx10 is design for vista platform. New VGA card that support Dx10 does not show their maximum pefromance on XP.

  2. The last version of DirectX released for Windows XP was 9.0c. They don't make DirectX 10 for Windows XP and they never will. Otherwise, how would they get you to upgrade?  

    The good news for you is, Windows 7 will probably be out Q4 of 2009, or Q1 of 2010.

    I won't tell you to stick with Vista because you asked me not to, but the only problem with Vista is peoples opinion of it. I run Vista 64 bit, and games run better than XP, The OS itself runs smoother, and much much faster. It boots in >25 seconds (no lie!) while XP takes >60 on the same hardware (I dual boot.)  There is still one reason I use XP, and that is that there is no 64bit software (that I can afford) for audio editing.
