XP Pro desktop icons display question?

Occasionally when I power up my machine, an odd glitch happens or some new software gets installed, all of my desktop icons come up re-arranged and in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. It's a serious pain in the a** to move them all around again and get them re-organized into the groups I had them in. Is there some type of file I can save from windows that has this arrangement in it so I can back it up and restore it when this happens? I make restore points but that doesn't cover every situation where this happens. I'm sick and tired of this I have like 60 icons to rearrange everytime this occurs. Thank you.

  1. You can change that, by right clicking on desktop

There you see in the little window that opens as first item where you can decide how to arrange your icons on your desktop

Sorry, I have everything in dutch, so I do not exactly know how to translate it. I am sure you figure it out, when you right click on desktop

  2. I have a software for you that will do the arranging work in automatic as well custom styles. It is called Desktop Icon Toy. It is the best tool when it comes to desktop enhancement.

You can download it from here:http://www.download.com/Desktop-Icon-Toy...

The only catch is that it is a 14 day trial and for further use you will have to pay for it. But, it's worth it.

Anyway try it out and hope this helps.
