  1. Do you mean that you want to be able to open the start menu, click a shortcut and minimise all programs open, and be able to see the desktop?

If so, do you have the QuickLaunch, that has a "show desktop" shortcut, click and hold that, as if you are going to drag it, and then drag it over the start menu, it will open and then you can place it where you like.

  2. Your question is strange.. I'll answer what I think you mean.

If you want a shortcut on your desktop, right click on whatever icon you want a shortcut of, go to "Send To" then "Desktop, create shortcut"

If you want one in your start menu, right click drag it over the start menu, the menu should pop up, then keep dragging it to where you want it, release the right click, click "Create Shortcut Here"

  3. try locating the launcher of the application,, then drag it to the start menu...

  4. What ever reason for?

Your quicklaunch bar should already have a "Show Desktop" icon for that.

Rightclick on "Start"click "Properties"click "Taskbar" tab.

Put a checkmark in "Show Quick Launch:

    Click OK or Apply.

    Should be there now.
