I find the Vista Solitaire fluttering effects bothersome and slowing the game down. Is it possible to get the XP version transferred to a Vista computer??? A real case where more is less !

  1. Yes you can! Look at http://www.thepcspy.com/read/running_xps... . All you need to do is under C:\Windows\System32, find sol.exe and cards.dll. Copy those to desktop (or wherever you want) on your Vista computer. Then when you run sol.exe you will get the classic XP solitaire.

If you want to completely replace the Vista solitaire with the XP version, copy those files to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Solitaire\ on your vista computer. Delete solitaire.exe (or move it somewhere else), and rename sol.exe to solitaire.exe. Then when you run solitaire it will be the XP version.
