XP2008 virus getting it out of computer?

hi guys my computer has been infected with the XP2008 virus any help getting rid would be great thanks. no spoof please stressed enought as it is

depends how far your computer has been affected, if you can get in safe mode, try to go dos, and reformat your computer, as with any virus even if you get rid of the main virus it still can be in your directory, i feel that re-formatting is the best policy..

If you can log in using Windows Safe Mode (hold F8 key as BIOS messages scroll up, then choose Safe Mode with Networking), then you can try running:

Malwarebyte's anti-malware

a-squared anti-malware

SUPERantispyware

All 3 programs will remove the malicious files for free.

However, for the best effect you're advised to run some online virus scanner as well. Finally, use HiJackThis to generate a scan report. It's possible that some remnants may remain hidden deep in the system, though they would be harmless after anti-malware scans.

Warning: do not limit system cure to 1 single scan. Do at least three, rebooting Windows after each.

I feel for you Peter I had the same trouble three weeks ago.

I had to get my computer RESTORD to the factory settings.

It cost me £40 I lost a lot of good documents.

Yes it is very stressful.

I am fairly new to computer working.

I wish they could do something about those people who, are causing this damage.

Your can install CLAMWIN.

ClamWin is a Free Antivirus for Microsoft Windows

that uses the GNU General Public License by the Free Software

Foundation and is free (as in freedom) software.

There is a portable version of ClamWin where it can be install into an USB pendrive as small as 64 MB.

First use another PC to download Clamwin portable anti-virus

and install Clamwin portable on a USB thumb drive.

Update the latest anti-virus definition files.

Set the preferences to delete virus.

When the USB pendrive is ready.

Boot up the infected PC in safe mode { press F8 }.

Run the Clamwin Anti-virus that is installed on the USB drive to scan the infected PC.

Scan all hard drives for viruses.

After removing the virus, install c**p cleaner (ccleaner) to get rid of the left over setting in the windows registry.

Antispyware 2008 XP This program is actually Spyware. Once the user installs it on their system it will spew out pop up adverts and say the computer is infected with large amounts of spyware. It disguises itself as an anti-spyware tool.
