XV6800 Internal GPS Chip?

Does the interal GPS chip on the XV6800 work well? I was thinking about getting the verizon version of the phone. I know you have to use a customized rom to activate the internal GPS chip, but I was wondering if anyone who uses the phone's GPS could tell me how it performs.
