XVII Pan Am Badminton Championships: Haramara Gaitan beats Nikte Alejandra in Women’s Singles fight
Mexico’s talented player Haramara Gaitan showed her supremacy in the arena as she played with remarkable control and overpowered Guatemala’s Nikte Alejandra Sotomayor in Women’s Singles battle at XVII Pan Am Badminton Championships Team Event on Monday,
October 8, in Peru.
The in-form Haramara, who entered into the court with an aggressive approach, played with superb speed and control and eventually overpowered Nikte in a spectacular rubber-set contest that took 35 minutes of attacking badminton from both contestants.
Haramara was in all sorts of trouble in the first game but she found a good rhythm on time and managed to snatch the following sets to end up the fight in three games with a decent margin on score board.
On the other hand, the spirited Nikte played to her maximum potential and she also managed to win the first game with a decent margin.
However, Guatemalan shuttler failed to play with precision in the following both games and lost the battle with a respectable score.
In the starting game of this Women’s Singles showdown, both ladies played well but it was Nikte who took over the control towards the end of first half and managed a small lead.
After the break, Haramara tried her best to catch up her rival on score board as she could not control the pace of rallies and eventually lost the game with a decent margin of 17-21.
Stung by the loss of first set, Haramara played with impressive control and did not let her challenger to make the score levelled until the break.
Swedish player continued her dominating performance against Nikte in the concluding half of second game and won it with a 21-16 score on the board.
In the decider, both participants played to their maximum potential and remained successful in staying close until the end of first half.
After the break, they continued showing up a tough fight but it was Haramara who managed to control the affairs in ending points and took the set with a decent total of 21-18.
Haramara won this Women’s Singles contest in hard-fought three games with a 17-21, 21-16 and 21-18 score on the board.
