XXI Pan Am Junior 2012: Andres Quadri and Nydia Gonzalez deliver staggering performance
Mexico’s Andres Quadri and Nydia Gonzalez put up a staggering show when they played to their full potential and toppled Jamaica’s Samuel Ricketts and Katherine Wynter in Mixed Doubles battle at the XXI Pan Am Junior 2012 in Canada, on Tuesday, July 24.
The impressive Andres and Nydia played at their best speed and employed all of their skills to overpower their Jamaican rivals in a completely dominating fashion.
Andres and Nydia had to work really hard in the opening set and they managed to end it up with a tight margin. However, they did not face any trouble in the second game and ended it up easily to end up the battle in straight sets by taking just 21 minutes.
In the meanwhile, Samuel and Katherine put up superb show in first set of the contest but failed to live up to expectations in ending points. In the following set, they failed to show their brilliance and eventually faced a straight-set defeat from the hands
of their Mexican rival.
The aggressive Andres and Nydia tried to play dominating badminton from the opening points of first game but failed to get the desired advantage as their opponents were also impressive on court.
Both couples progressed with an equal speed on score board until the end of first half in opening set.
After the break, they continued their power play without showing any sign of slowing down the pace and reached at the critical stage of 21-21 when Andres and Nydia played smart badminton and took the ending points to finish off the set with a tight score
of 23-21.
In the following set, Andres and Nydia played better badminton as they controlled the pace from opening points and took an impressive 11-6 lead until the break.
After the interval, Andres and Nydia continued their roller-coaster run on court as they did not let their opponents to catch up the difference at any stage and finished off the second game with a superb margin of 21-15.
Andres and Nydia emerged as the winner in straight games by taking just 21 minutes with an interesting margin of 23-21 and 21-15.
