XXI Pan Am Junior 2012: Diego Yong crushes Jevon Gaskin in Men’s Singles encounter – Badminton news
Peru’s talented young player Diego Yong played tremendous badminton and stamped his mark over Jevon Gaskin of Barbados in a sensational manner by beating him with a wonderful margin at the XXI Pan Am Junior 2012 Team Event on Sunday, July 22, in Canada.
The aggressive Diego played to his maximum potential as he did not show any sign of slowing down his speed in the entire contest against Jevon and remained successful in taking the match with a stunning difference on score board.
Diego was one class above his rival as he played dominating badminton while remaining positive on court and emerged as the winner by ending the fight in straight games in a lopsided fashion.
Jevon, on the other hand, received a severe treatment from his in-form Challenger as he failed to tackle the pace of rallies and also could not create gaps to place his shots. He eventually lost the battle with a huge margin.
In the opening game, Diego played attacking badminton while remaining quick in all areas of court and managed to prove his worth by setting up a superb lead at the initial stage.
Diego was in complete control of rallies until the mid-game interval when he was leading the score board with a tremendous margin.
After the break, the in-form Diego continued his power play without showing Jevon even a least amount of mercy. He remained positive and on court to grab the opening game quite easily with a huge margin of 21-14.
In the following game, Jevon tried to live up to expectations by coping up with the pace of rallies but failed to control the bird and also threw away many points by playing negative strokes.
Until the one-minute break, the impressive Diego was in tremendous position as he again took a huge lead.
After the break, Diego remained positive on court and he did not let Jevon to put up strong show. He did not lose his control over the pace of rallies and won the set with a one-sided 21-12 score on the board.
The spirited Diego easily thrashed Jevon in straight games of 29 minutes with a huge difference of 21-14 and 21-12.
