XXI Pan Am Junior 2012: Ramon Garrido trounces Tomas Winocur in Men’s Singles encounter
Mexico’s Ramon Garrido surprised everyone by playing smashing badminton as he trounced Tomas Winocur of Argentina in Men’s Singles clash at the XXI Pan Am Junior 2012 Team Event on Monday, July 23, in Canada.
The aggressive Ramon, who has been putting up wonderful show of top quality badminton in all of his matches in the championship, played at his best speed against Tomas and emerged as victorious in an inspiring fashion.
The in-form Ramon played attacking badminton in the opening set and bagged it easily. He remained on track in the second set and finished it off in the similar fashion to grab victory with a one-sided score in just 15 minutes.
On the contrary, Tomas found him completely helpless on court against the power play of his Mexican opponent and lost to him easily without showing his brilliance in the entire contest.
Ramon found a perfect start in opening game when he played killing badminton and took 9 straight points to set up a huge lead of 9-0 on the score board.
However, Tomas tried his best to reduce the deficit and managed to reach at 4-11 until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Ramon remained consistent in his positive and planned badminton and did not let his opponent to play his normal game at any stage. He took advantage by claiming the opening set with a stunning score of 21-8.
In the second set, Ramon again showed an incredible performance as he showed urgency in setting up a tremendous lead at the early stage of the game.
The impressive Mexican shuttler was in full control of the game and dictated his challenger in all areas of the court to set up a staggering lead of 11-2 until the break.
After the break, Ramon continued putting up striking show without losing his focus and punished his rival by putting him on back foot.
The Mexican player remained in completely dominating position in the whole second game and ended it up with a surprising 21-7 score on the board.
Ramon won this Men’s Singles battle quite easily in just 15 minutes with a striking margin of 21-8 and 21-7.
