Real Madrid midfielder and Spanish international, Xabi Alonso has gone on to reveal that he would someday like to return to Liverpool and play at Anfield once again.
The Spanish World Cup winner spent five years as a Red, before he was ultimately sold to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid for a fee of thirty million pounds in 2009.
During the summer of 2009, Rafa Benitez (Who was manager of the club back then), seemed more interested in landing player’s like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Aquilani-c4313, instead of keeping hold of Alonso. As a result, the midfielder went on to feel unwanted at
the club, which ultimately led to his departure from the team.
When talking about his decision to leave and his attachment to the Reds, the midfielder is reported to have said: “It was difficult because http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 has been and always will be very special”
“It is in my heart because I have lived very intense things there.
“It was really difficult to tell the fans what my decision was, but sometimes you have to follow your feelings and that was my feeling at that moment.?
“The fans always made it very clear what they wanted and the support I had from the first day I arrived to the last day was absolutely top and I can’t have any complaints about that. But it was my decision and my feeling.”
“I miss lots of things. I miss the lads, I miss the atmosphere at Melwood – it was a great place to work, and the scenario of Anfield is unbeatable.”
From the way things are shaping up with the player, it seems like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
Considering the fact that Alonso is going to be entering his thirties, sooner rather than later, the player really needs to decide where he wants to. Should he continue to play at Madrid, he just won’t be able to ever make it back to Liverpool. However,
should the player feel like he really wants to move back to Anfield, he needs to do so in the near future.
Nonetheless, a move back to Anfield is not going to be an easy one for the midfielder. This is because Madrid would not be willing to let the player leave for a price significantly lower than the thirty million they paid for him, while Liverpool won’t be
willing to pay that fee.
Based on that, it seems all the more likely for Alonso to remain at Madrid, till he eventually retires.
