  1. He won't qualify for either of the leagues. He can't win the National League simply because he doesn't play in the league anymore, and he cannot win in the American League because he won't have enough at bats to qualify.

  2. oh give me  rest the best person who has a chance is someoen like dustin

  3. To qualify for the batting title a player has to average 3.1 plate appearances for each game his team plays.

If the Yankees play all 162 games Nady would need 502 plate appearances.  He has 32 PA so far with 50 games left.  So all he has to do is average 9.4 plate appearance in each of the 50 remaining Yankees games and he'll qualify.

  4. This is one thing I will never understand. How or why they do and dont carry over a players stats when being traded to other league.

For instance, Sabathia. They have listed his strikeout total from both leagues in his present NL League, but not the total of wins he has earned. I mean wtf? I dont get it. Therefore, to require to become batting champ, I believe it is not based on the performance from both leagues combined, as I feel it should.

  5. No.  He won't have enough at bats (actually plate appearances) in either league to qualify.

  6. he'll cool off. he's a good hitter. but he's a streaky hitter. i doubt he will finish in the top 5 in either league. if he could hit like he's hitting right now all season he wouldn't be such a journeyman.

as it is he is behind chipper jones, matt holliday and albert pujols

...the batting champion isnt awarded in each league if i remember correctly is it?

  7. Not if he doesn't get traded back to the N.L.  You need 501 plate appearances to qualify for the batting title, and they don't transfer when you switch leagues.

  8. Players usually don't win awards when they switch leagues. I'm fairly certain that's why CC Sabathia wasn't an all-star this season, despite having some of the best numbers in either league (he was traded from AL to NL about a week before, IIRC).

  9. utterchaos is right but he forgot one thing..in the event that a player does not come up with enough plate appearances (the 502 needed to qualify) because of some injury or switching leagues, the league will add on the remaining plate appearances as hitless ABs..so either way he will not be able to win the batting title, but he can actually qualify for it with the hitless appearance rule

  10. He will definitely cool off so I don't think he will get it. But you never no he can catch on fire........no one knows.
