Xanadu in the Meadowlands?

A recent question about resorts open in the summer sparked my thoughts, and I remembered the news about Xanadu, the indoor resort being built in the Meadowlands. I was just curious who here is nearby, and if you guys are as upset as I am at the fact that they're planning on opening Fall 2008. FALL...I'm just disappointed that it won't be open in time for summer riding.

And what's your thoughts on this? The building of this apparently destroys quite a bit of marshland, and I'm not exactly sure I like the destruction of it.

I am cautiously optimistic about Xanadu. In some ways it'll be cool b/c it will help cure my itch to ride during the summer...but I bet you that when you first open, lift tickets will be well over $50.  Although it would be cool so have it open this summer it doesn't even look like it's 25% of the way done. I'm also guessing that it's opening will likely be delayed anyways...just like most projects in Jersey.
