The former Argentine captain has heaped praise over his club teammates, claiming that they have become insignias of the Catalan giants.

Barcelona’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta.
According to the midfielder, the long-serving players are better than all other footballers at the moment and have clearly set themselves apart from the competition with their remarkable performances over the past years.
The Argentine believes that his side is home to some of the best footballers of all time and that their influence over the Catalan capital is deep-rooted.
Mascherano also admitted that Messi, Puyol, Xavi and Iniesta are better than the rest of the squad as well. However, he maintained that there is no disparity in the squad, claiming that no differences exist between the players.
The 28-year-old went on to exclaim that these players are like the most important actors of a movie cast. He stressed that everyone else understands that the game circulates among these footballers and no one has any misunderstandings.
While talking to reporters, Mascherano was quoted as saying:
"Cases like Xavi, Puyol, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leo-c22011 [Messi], and Iniesta are different [from the rest of the squad]. They are the heart of this team, the most important. It's like a movie, [with major and lesser actors]. Everyone is needed, but they should know their place. I
am happy with my position and do not intend to occupy a role more important than my current one."
The former West Ham player then went on to refute all reports that suggested that there is a rift between Lionel Messi and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629. The two footballers were found having an argument during Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Granada.
However, Mascherano has insisted that an argument does not necessarily hint towards a problem and that it should be considered a part of the game. The player asserted that things are pleasant in the Barca locker-room.
"When things aren't going the way we want them to, we each have different ways of reacting. It's been [blown out of proportion.] These are normal things," he added.
