Xavi Hernandez and the year 2010 (Part 1)
The Spanish midfielder Xavi Hernandez has been a crucial part of Barcelona since he joined them. Like most of the Catalan players playing for the Spanish Champions, Xavi Hernandez is also a youth product of the Spanish club and
he came from their academy known to be “La Masia.”
Xavi is known to be a “man in charge.” The Spaniard has proven it “time and again” and who cannot second this note. The Spain and Barcelona midfielder is famous for pulling the strings of the game as the whole team depends on his
extraordinary passing. His brilliant and flawless passing and the way he keeps possession of the ball, is simply extraordinary. Xavi Hernandez is definitely a player the whole team can rely on.  
Xavi Hernandez has been extraordinary during the year 2010 and to sum it all up, let us look at his career during this year:
13th January: Xavi Hernandez did not only help his side during the year 2010; in fact, he was simply extraordinary during the year 2009. On 13th January 2010, the IFFHS named the Spanish midfielder
as the best midfield playmaker of the year 2009.
13th January: Only a few hours later, Xavi Hernandez scored a fabulous goal for Barcelona, but it was simply not enough for the Catalan Giants to help themselves from being knocked out of the Spanish
Cup as Sevilla defeated them.
23rd January: Barcelona were to face Real Valladolid in a Spanish La Liga game and it was the midfield sensation of Guardiola’s side, Xavi Hernandez who scored the first goal of the match as the Spanish
Champions won the game 0-3 away from home.
6th February: Barcelona were facing Getafe at the Nou Camp. The Spanish Champions found themselves a man down right before the end of the first half and Barcelona had to play with a man down for more
than half of the game. Despite the fact, they were a man down, they managed to take advantage of the home ground and Xavi Hernandez cored again to help his side win the game as Barcelona took the crucial 3 points after the 2-1 home win against Getafe.
15th February: With Xavi hitting extraordinary form during the season, he found himself being injured as his right leg took a blow during training.
23rd February: The fans were relieved as Xavi Hernandez finally made a comeback. Even though the Spaniards did not win the game against the German side Stuttgart, Xavi still managed to keep up with his
performance even after returning from an injured leg and the Spanish midfielder helped his side with a wonderful assist as the Spanish Champions drew the game away to the German team.
25th February: This day brought tears of joy in the eyes of Xavi Hernandez. The Spanish midfielder was called to his hometown and their council named Ajuntament de Terrassa awarded him with a medal of
honour that sure did bring him honour.
