The articulate midfielder came out in the open for his disgust at the mannerism of Real Madrid players, many of whom he will be sharing the dressing room during the Euro 2012.
Responding to questions regarding Los Blancos’ La Liga title triumph in the recently concluded campaign, Xavi remarked that La Blaugrana congratulated their arch-rivals on their success.
Continuing on the subject, he added that while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 were gracious in their inability to lift their fourth successive league title, they never received a compliment from their opposing numbers during their days of dominance in Spanish top flight football.
"We congratulated them when they won, that is sport at the end of the day. We have been very respectful with them, however, I have noted that it wasn't the same in reverse," Xavi said in an interview with Canal+.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup winner also took out time to talk about Pep Guardiola’s departure from the managerial hot seat at the Camp Nou. Xavi revealed that he was shocked when the 41-year-old first shared his plans but understood his decision after he explained
it to the group.
The experienced campaigner also admitted that Tito Vilanova’s appointment was as big a shock to him as Guardiola’s departure given his poor health condition in the past.
Nonetheless, Xavi opined that the matter was handled in the best possible manner and they have been given more breathing space to continue their winning run in footballing competitions with Vilanova’s appointment.
"I was very surprised by Pep leaving, but when he explained it all to us, you understand.”
"The appointment of Tito also surprised me, mostly because of what had happened with his illness, but looking at the decision, I think it was treated in the best way possible.”
"This team has to continue winning titles for a few more years, and we don't have to change the form of coaching."
Xavi is expected to start for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 on June 10.
