The Spanish maestro Xavi Hernandez has returned to full training for Barcelona. The Catalan Giants have had more than their share of injury problems in recent weeks as their captain Carles Puyol and their vice captain Xavi Hernandez were both injured.
Their third captain Victor Valdes also suffered a knee injury right before the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Athletic-Club-c38535 and the young Barcelona forward Jeffren Suarez has been out for a month because of a groin injury.
The Barcelona stars faced Mallorca away from home and Xavi Hernandez could not feature in the game because of his Achilles tendon problem. The Spaniard has been suffering since returning from South Africa after he performed in each and every game that the
Spanish International team played in the FIFA World Cup 2010.
Xavi Hernandez was also a part of the final match that the Spanish team won and after seeing so much football, the Spaniard suffered an injury because of fatigue. With most of the Barcelona players being a part of the Spanish team that won the FIFA World
Cup 2010, the Catalans are being bombarded with injuries in recent weeks.
Not only did Barcelona miss out on their first choice centre-back and the club’s captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331, they also missed out on their number 1 goalkeeper Victor Valdes. Carles Puyol is currently suffering from a left knee tendon while Victor Valdes also damaged
his left knee while performing against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.
The Catalan fans however, will breathe a sigh of relief knowing Xavi Hernandez returned to full training on Monday. Before the game against Valencia, Josep 'Pep' Guardiola called up all the available players and even though Xavi Hernandez is not considered
as “fit to play” against Valencia, he still trained with the rest of the squad and had no problems with his tendon.
Jeffren Suarez also joined him in first team training while Victor Valdes and Carles Puyol remained in the gym to continue their exercises towards retaining full fitness.
Barcelona are currently seven points above Real Madrid after winning the game against Mallorca http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AS-Real-c38478 Madrid drew 0-0 against Deportivo La Coruna.
Xavi Hernandez is a crucial part of Barcelona’s line-up and they would be looking forward to bringing him back before the game against Arsenal as the Catalan Giants really need to win in order to qualify for the next round of the UEFA Champions League.
