Barcelona have recently won a difficult fixture against Sevilla but the Spanish La Liga title race isn’t over as they will be facing their arch-rivals and the current Spanish La Liga champions, Real Madrid, next week.
La Blaugrana had to face Sevilla in the Spanish La Liga over the weekend and while many thought that Sevilla will be able to break Barcelona’s winning streak which they have kept for so long, despite going two goals up against the Catalan giants, they had
to surrender to a 3-2 defeat.
It was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 who scored the winning goal; however, a brace scored by Cesc Fabregas made sure that the Catalan giants at least rescue a point during the game.
The game against Sevilla was a difficult one and Barcelona were able to win it.
It means that the Catalan giants are currently in a phenomenal form and they have already pressurized their next week’s opponents, Real Madrid.
However, Barcelona’s first-choice midfielder, Xavi Hernandez, has stated that La Blaugrana are not currently thinking about Real Madrid.
Even though it is considered to be the toughest fixture in the league for both, Barcelona and Real Madrid, Xavi has stated that the team is not concentrating on the much-anticipated El Clasico as they have to travel to Lisbon for the UEFA Champions League
game in the midweek.
While speaking about the game against Madrid, Xavi said:
“We are not thinking of the Real Madrid game because we have a match in Lisbon that will not be easy.”
“We’ll have to recover well to face it because it is essential that we qualify for the knock-out phase. For now we just have to enjoy this win over Sevilla.”
