After winning his first three matches of the league, sitting up top in La Liga points table, with a five point over arch rivals Real Madrid, Xavi Hernandez has nothing but praise for new Barcelona manager, Tito Vilanova.

The 32-year-old midfielder believes that Vilanova can lead Barcelona to win a lot of titles. With former Barca manager Pep Guardiola having four highly successful seasons, the Spanish manager has to follow pretty large footsteps.
Vilanova faced a lot of criticism when his name popped up as the new manager, and many thought he was not fit for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
However, Xavi has faith in his new manager, and why would he not? With such a successful start, the Spaniard feels that he is ready to win a few titles.
“Tito Vilanova can take this team on to win many titles. He was already an important coach when Pep was here. He is a man of character.”
Apart from commenting about the current team manager, Xavi also spoke about his relationship with Los Blancos’ goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815, with whom he won the Prince of Asturias award for Sports.
La Masia youth academy graduate commented that both the Madrid goalkeeper and he have a lot of mutual respect for one another, and have maintained a steady friendship.
“I am very happy to be awarded this (the Prince of Asturias award) honour together with Casillas. I have never cut relations with him, we have always remained friends, speaking over the phone. We have great respect for each other.”
Xavi also commented on his desire to continue playing for Barcelona. The acclaimed midfielder stated that he is more fit than last year, and that he loves his position on the team.
“Physically, I feel better than last year. My desire is to continue playing with Barca. I love the role that I play in the team and I do not want to lose it. I am very competitive and I enjoy winning with Barca.”
Xavi also took out time to comment about teammate, Cesc Fabregas. The Barcelona youth academy graduate has had a less than ideal start to the season, contrary to his club’s success so far.
He stated that he has seen the former Arsenal captain train hard, and is an important member of the team, whilst also adding that he understands Fabregas wants more playing time.
