Xavier Nady signs with Kansas City Royals – MLB Update
Xavier Nady has signed with the Kansas City Royals but to Minor League contract. He last played for the San Francisco Giants and showed his offensive skills after achieving consistent numbers of .184 hitting average along with four homers, 13 RBIs and .253 OBP.
“Obviously, when you have a chance to throw on a big-league uniform, it’s always an opportunity, I grew up a Giants fan, and coming to a team that’s in first place, it’s a wonderful time,” Nady told the San Francisco Chronicle after being recalled.
Nady is a highly experienced individual and possesses almost ten-year of Major League experience. He started his career in 2000 with the San Diego Padres and since then showing his consistent performances.
With a large Major League experience and with different teams, Nady has been remained at top of his game during all these years. After starting his career in the Padres franchise, Nady went onto play for the New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals.
This year, in the 2012 Major League Baseball season, he began playing for the Nationals but was waived during the season and later, the Giants signed him to a minor league contract as he was sent to Class AAA Fresno showing his great ability to adapt any new environment.
He currently possesses .270 hitting average along with 101 home runs, 406 RBIs and .324 OBP. His career hitting average shows his true class and his ability to take the game away from opponents.
Now with a team in the Major League Baseball, the chances are high that he will perform well in the Royals farm teams. The Royals on the other hand, also need some backup fire power in the coming seasons. It is also expected that the Royals might call Nady into the Majors during the regular season.
Royals’ perform really power in the last Major League outing and showed no consistency all season long while with the arrival of an experienced Major Leaguer, the experts are agreed that Kansas City will produce some major power plays in the coming season.
