Isn't the problem with the red rings because everyone plays over like 5 hours on it? umm easy solution, know your limit and go do something else..? unless you got like no life. my max time playing my 360 is 2 hours. usually i just play for an hour unless i get real into it online or something but still i know my limit and you should all know yours. So instead of going crazy just play less people and you wont get the 3 red rings.. hopefully

  1. the new consoles have solved a lot of the bugs in the old ones. any console made after about april will not have the same problem with the 3 red rings

  3. Ralph is gangster.

    Get me bladddddd..!

  4. Yes and no.

See the 3 red rings coming up is just your 360 reverting to the "BIOS" code on it stating that there is a hardware malfunction.

The popular problem causing the red rings would be the overheating problem. The older models of Xbox 360s have a design flaw where the heatsink inside the console is poorly designed so the heat does not flow off the system boards as well as it should meaning the console is generating more heat than it is giving off.

So generally its like a ticking time bomb. Yes playing longer will make the crash happen sooner, but limited play will also cause the problem. The heat inside the system is slowly damaging the chipset inside of the console. Eventually the chipset will get fried enough where it will just malfunction. The BIOS sees this as a hardware malfunction and there you have the red rings.

Oddly enough it will power back up after red ringing only to shut down again after a few minutes. The processor is reset back to a working state when the console is off as it gets flushed. But once it heats up again it shuts down.

Summary: Long gaming sessions will only speed up the crash of a system.

Easier ways to prevent a problem like thise

A: store the xbox is a well-ventilated area where the fan can breath, an entertainment center where the 360 is in an enclosed cabinet is a terrible place

B: Keep the dust and pet hair off of it

C:Turn it off when its not in use of course

But taking breaks from gaming are especially good for your own personal health. Give your wrists and eyes a break

  5. This is a common bug in a lot of the older models. It's relatively easy to fix it 'long term' - I would recommend visiting the following site for a protocol: http://starturl.com/x-box

  6. uhh this isn't a question but i play over 4 hours on weekends
