Xbox 360 'Rings of Death' - does it matter what red lights are flashing?

Can you help...I have three 'Rings of Death' on my xbox 360 (the top left hand quadrant is not flashing red)! Does this mean anything specific or is it just broken?

Your x box has over heated and fried the mother board. Contact micro soft help line, they''ll arrange pick up and replace if they can't fix it. This happened to me and the hole thing took about a week. They replaced it with a new x box that doesn't over heat.

My old x box was 2 years old and they still replaced it. I think they extended the guarantee to 3 years.

Yes, three are flashing. Top left? You have yours on its side where the power button is on the top? Then yes that is the RRoD. I'm not really sure what it means though

The three flashing Red Rings of Death means that your XBOX 360 has suffered a total hardware failure. Could be due to excessive overheating, broken hardware, who knows?

If you bought your 360 a year after the release, then you have an extended 3 year warranty. Contact Microsoft about this and they will send you a box to ship your 360 in. Shipping is free, and they'll return in within 2 weeks.

your xbox is toast better send it in to microsoft for repairs

you can send it to microsoft but some people say that they send backin crappier condition, if you dont want that you can just get it fixed for something like 80 bux at some gaming shops

Hi,

Yes depending on the number of lights flashing it means different things, the 3 red lights means that you have a hardware failure and will need to get it fixed.

Normally it is the GPU and the CPU that have overheated to causes this problem.

There is only 1 pattern for the ring of death.

MS will only repair the RROD after the 1st year.  For other problems, MS won't fix it unless you pay a free after the first year.
