hi, ive unlocked quite a few achievements on various xbox 360 games in single player and online and was just wondering what exactly they're for? is there any point to them (i.e. online) or is it just to say youve passed a certain point in a game?

  1. yeah basically its just too show that you have done certain parts of a game and stuff. its quite important to very competitive people. who want too show that they have been there and done it.

altho i do like it when say i score a certain amount of goals in one match on fifa, or got like 50 head shot on call of duty online. and i get an achievement for it. so it is a nice feature to have. but not really necessery

    hope this has helped

  2. it'/s just to say you;ve reached a certain point in a game, or found a secret, or managed a complicated action.

there's no realy point to them other than to compare yourself with others.

the downside is that more and more games are including the achievments like "find all the hidden items" which they think means you get more out of the game, but in fact you spend a few boring hours running round the levels with a map you found off the internet for all the points

  3. they show to others your gaming prowess. PS3 has just had the same system introduced. I dont know what the benefits are, but its something else to display...

  4. It more just for geeks really. there is no real reward as such, though Microsoft offer the odd promotional item now and again for people who earn a certain amount of points in a month etc.
