Xbox 360 DVD drive question!

Im planning on exchanging my 360 today at bbuy for a new one (drive no longer reads discs) and I was wondering if all the 360's released now have the quiet DVD drive?

I have the loud hitachi one from two years ago and really don't want to get stuck with it again...is there a way to check without turning it on and looking at it? Maybe manufacturers date?

  1. All new ones have the quiet hard drive.

    Check the Manufacture date at the back of the 360 (it's at the right hand side, when you turn it round, near the 3rd USB). If it's after September 2007, it has the quiet drive. Also, if it has an HDMi port, it has the new quiet drive
