Xbox 360 HELP (cant get imput because res too high)

Question

i just bought an xbox 360 this morning, and i hooked it up to my lcd monitor. everything works fine, but the res was a little crappy, so i went to change it and i put it on highest (stupid me), now my monitor (benq 22inch wide) comes up with a message saying "out of range" (i cant see anything else) and i know i have to change the res to fix it but i dont know the xbox menu sequence to be able to change it without video imput

if someone could walk me through what to press from starting up the xbox to changing res i would be very grateful

I would (If you have one) hook your 360 up to a tv and change the res back.
