Xbox 360 Red Lights?

Question

I have 3 Red flashing lights when i started it up today, I have not used it for a while but today i decided to play a little and saw the 3 red lights. I blew it off with air to get dust or anything out but still has the 3 lights. I turned it on and stuck a game in it and it runned for about 1 and a half minutes than locked up. I need help, should i send it in for repairs or what? I got error code 79 for curropted files or hard drive corruption.

Call Microsoft. Its covered under warranty.

Hi,

The red lights error is caused by the GPU and the CPU overheating and is not down to anything that you have done.

You will need to ring Microsoft and send it in and they will fix it for you or have a look around onlinr for a good repair guide that will show you how to stop the heat build up.

The red ring of death, its a comon problem that happens to xbox users atleast once in there life,

Ring microsoft and organse to get a replacement because this is there fault for releasing dodgy hardware!

it is three lights which means loose hardware check the wires to make sure one handcar loose then delete the corrupt file sand it will work fine if it doesn't then call 1-800-4my-xbox it is under warranty even if you bought it off ebay

even if its off ebay you should still call them and give the number on the back.  They might not ask where you got it from.  There is a 3 year manufacturer warranty regardless of where it came from. The only trouble there could be is if the e-bay seller had already called in and put the XBOX under his name.  If not, then you should be considered first owner.

if you bought it off ebay then for three red lights it still has warrenty send it off to microsoft

BAAAAD. the red lights of doom...... the processors in your xbox have overheated or stopped working. the ONLY way to fix this is to have your xbox refurbished. call microsoft and they will send you a box with instructions and you can send it out to be fixed. and it should return in working condithion in about 6 weeks
