Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death questions?

I have heard of the Red Ring of Death, and I have not recieved it yet. But, why is it called the Red Ring of Death? :/

Is it because it overheats? If so, what's the point of the "of Death" part. I mean, if I saw it, I'd scream.

its caused wen the hardware in  ur console crashes and once u get ur 360 is done u might get a little more time with it if u keep hitn the button but eventually its gonna die and every time u hit the power button u will see 3 red rings around the power button
