Question:

Xbox 360: Sending My Xbox to Xbox Support For Repairs (Help Needed)?

I recently discovered that my Xbox 360 has three red flashing lights around the power button. I'm aware that it is a hardware failure and that I need to send it to Xbox for repairs. I went to www.xbox.com/support and requested for a repair order online. Within four hours, they processed my request and on the "Manage Your Device" page, it says in the four stages that Xbox is waiting for my Xbox to show up. I've heard rumors that Xbox no longer sends you shipping materials and that you need to box it up and send it to UPS yourself. I wasn't sure what was the problem so I called up the Support number and they gave me a Reference Number and a Tracking Number for UPS. I checked on the UPS website and entered my Tracking Number and they found the number this morning and I also received an e-mail from Microsoft/UPS that a package will be sent to me this week. Is that package the shipping materials that Xbox will provide me with? Apparently I need to get some sticker or something from them. When I get this package this week, do I box it up if it is the materials and go to UPS and they'll ship it to Xbox? I'm not familiar with this process and need some help with understanding this.

  1. The person above is an idiot.  You should receive a medium sized box very soon.  It will contain packing material, a prepaid shipping slip, and packing instructions.  The system is very easy to pack. You will need to send the console and power cord(nothing else).  Seal the box up the clear tape and place the return shipping label over the original label and send it off.  Make sure you get a receipt just in case.  You should have your system back in about a week.
