Xbox 360 arcade hdmi and a non 1080p tv?

ok so if i buy a hdmi cable for my xbox 360 arcade and connect it to my non 1080p tv will it make much of a difference? and is it worth buying?

the tv is 56 inches... and its the one just below 1080p which is i forget?

You might be talking about 1080i. The picture is slightly better with HDMI, and you can really tell the sound difference.
